I guess it’s true what they say, NPR is a bunch of thieving, lying hacks. I hear it all the time and I’ve always been an NPR apologist, but no more! I’m sure you all know the controversy I’m talking about, unless you get your news from NPR, who have YET to comment on this chaos, even after my many cuss-filled e-mails and phone calls (I’m waiting NPR!) Anyway, I’ll break the story down for you. Yesterday on Blackbookmag.com my piece entitled, “The Best and Worst of State Flags” went live. Then, hours, later, NPR’s piece entitled, “Do Not Look At These Dirty, Filthy State Seals” went up on their website. Both pieces are centered around the controversial Virginia state flag. Coincidence?! Maybe, since the Virginia State Seal has been in the news. Or… maybe absolutely not! What are the odds of two news stories about the same thing running on the exact same day? Slim to none. And Slim just left town. Is it just me or is Terry Gross’ Air starting to smell not so Fresh? Come on, NPR, admit it! Why don’t you go steal ideas from your best friend David Sedaris. I’m just a guy trying to write some funny, informative freelance stories for Black Book Magazine. Do you have any idea what your actions have done to me? Picture the scene, this afternoon while at the soup kitchen feeding the homeless my homemade Italian Wedding Soup, like I do every all seven days of the week (Writers note: Some of this story may be exaggerated for storytelling purposes) I took a quick break to look at my profile page to see if anyone has commented on the link I posted to my State Flag story. And what do I see? A friend had posted ANOTHER link to NPR’s State Seal Story right above mine, thereby stealing all of my thunder and crushing my artistic soul, which my mom always said was God’s gift to me. And you stole it. I guess my feelings aren’t a part of All the thing you Consider. And you know what, I’m not gonna Wait. And then Wait again. I’m gonna hurry up and tell you, you suck! For stealing my dreams. And my article about flags.
